Our Journal is designed to explain Vedic jewelry and Jyotish gemstone traditions clearly, without turning spiritual practice into guaranteed claims. These standards guide how Outwitting The Stars writes about astrology, gemstones and fine jewelry.

We distinguish tradition from established science

Jyotish is a longstanding Indian astrological tradition. Planetary gemstone associations, mantras, wearing rituals and remedial ideas are presented as part of that tradition. We do not describe them as medically proven treatments or scientifically guaranteed mechanisms.

We prefer chart-first explanations

Personalized Jyotish gemstone practice is based on the whole birth chart. We avoid universal statements such as “everyone born in this month should wear this stone” or “wear this gem to guarantee wealth, love or success.”

We separate gemology from astrology

Questions such as whether a stone is natural, lab-grown, heated, oiled or otherwise treated are gemological questions. Whether a stone is appropriate for a person's Jyotish chart is an astrological question. We keep those two kinds of information distinct.

We acknowledge variation within traditions

Jyotish practitioners and lineages can differ on gemstone weights, substitutes, metals, fingers, mantras, timing and skin-contact requirements. Where practices vary, we say so instead of presenting one modern rule as universally accepted.

We correct factual errors

When a factual error is identified, we aim to correct it. Our goal is to make the Journal useful to readers researching Indian astrology jewelry, Vedic birth charts and gemstones—not to inflate certainty.

Commercial transparency

Outwitting The Stars sells Vedic birth chart readings and jewelry. Journal articles may link to those services when relevant. The educational content is written to help readers understand what they are considering before they purchase.
